Cyber
In today’s day and age, it is paramount to keep yourself safe online. Trusted resources on cyber preparedness can be found under the Tech Hazards Tab.
Natural Hazards
Weather impacts our daily lives, so be prepared for it. It also impacts everything else around us. In the Natural Hazards tab, there are resources relating to weather, water, and geological hazards as well as our environmental monitoring program.
Radiation
With the closure of Three Mile Island (TMI), Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station is our only remaining nuclear power plant within Lancaster County’s planning region. Tech Hazards is responsible to maintain radiological plans and preparedness including public outreach, training, evacuations, monitoring and sheltering. Radiation resources can be found under the Tech Hazards tab.
Transportation
Getting from here to there is important in today’s world. The goal is to provide preparedness and planning tips for those on the move, however they go. Under the Transportation tab there are resources for roads, aviation, rail, and urban planning.
Utility
The services we use every day without thinking about it is what Tech Hazards thinks about. Lancaster County is crisscrossed with power lines above from the numerous dams, while pipelines are buried below ground and radio waves streaming overhead. Resources to keep our world connected are under the Utilities tab.
